As for recipes, you’ll see the five Ss: sides, salads, soups, savory, and sweets. Eating certain foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner is becoming less important. What we eat matters most. For instance, you’ll find breakfast salad recipes because we need to eat more whole-plant foods regardless of the time of day.
One of my favorite things is to change how people think about food and erase any uncertainty about what to buy and what to try. On this site, you’ll read updates to my book, Eating Between the Lines, published in 2007. So much has changed since then, so I’ll update topics and clarify some of the confusion using what we know today about food labeling and marketing. I won’t tell you what to eat and what not to eat. From my personal and professional experiences, I’ll give you the knowledge and tools to help you and your kids make wise food decisions.
My work with kids cooking has been recognized for helping introduce children and youth to culinary skills and healthy eating, encouraging them to feel confident in the kitchen and try new foods. Often, food is our children’s closest contact with nature and good health. In the Kid’s Corner, you’ll see free downloadable lessons to use at home, at school, or for after-school programs.
I am so glad you found Eating Between the Lines. I look forward to learning more about your food journey.
